:: Gentleman’s Rules

Sometimes, we become addicted to cell phones, video games, the television. We need to always remember to be present.

Just because the phone rings doesn’t mean you have to answer it. Just because the games coming on, doesn’t mean you have to watch it. Remember what’s important – what you value – and demonstrate that importance – show that value.

  1. I was having lunch with a pastor talking over a very serious issue and he kept texting his wife and she kept calling. I asked him to please stop because I needed him to listen. He didn’t stop. I excused myself to use the bathroom, but when I looked across the restaurant I saw he was still at it so I left. It took him an hour to realize I was gone. I didn’t answer his text. What an ass!

    1. Wow…..I’m sorry that happened. I know I’ve been caught up in the electronic system a couple times. It’s an easy path to get drug into – but it always leads us away from a personal interaction. Hope you found peace with the issue.

      1. Oh, I have. It was a long time ago and I have a forgiving heart. It taught me a lesaon about being in the moment and making sure I pay attention when someone is speaking to me. Eye to eye contact!
